After opening the 2006-07 swimming & diving season last week against California, the Pacific men's squad joins forces with the women's team to host the Pacific Invitational in Stockton, Calif. The two-day event begins on Friday, Oct. 20 at noon and will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 21. Along with the Tigers, Big West foe UC Davis, USC, Washington and Stanford are slated to attend the meet.
While the Tigers and Aggies compete at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool Complex, the Cal State Northridge women's team takes a road trip to Idaho and Washington. On Friday, Oct. 20, the Matadors face the Idaho Vandals at 6:00 p.m. The following day CSUN visits Pullman, Wash., to take on Washington State at 11:00 a.m.
Last week UC Davis was the lone school in the conference to open the 2006-07 with a win. The men's team defeated UC Santa Cruz 159.5-126.5, while the women's squad topped the Banana Slugs 180-102 and San Jose state 169-131. Cal State Northridge, UC Santa Barbara and Pacific all posted a loss for their opening week of competition.
