NCAA Softball Bracket Unveiled On ESPNews Sunday 5/12/2004

The 64-team field for the 2004 NCAA Division I Softball Championship will be announced on ESPNews between 5:30-6:00 p.m. (PDT) on Sunday, May 16. This is the third consecutive year that the NCAA bracket has been revealed exclusively on ESPNews.

ESPNews can be found on DirecTV (channel 207), Dish Network (channel 142) and selected cable systems (check your local listings).

The eight regional host sites were announced on May 8 and consist of the following: Tucson, AZ (Arizona); Waco, TX (Baylor); Los Angeles, CA (UCLA); Tallahassee, FL (Florida State); Athens, GA (Georgia); Ann Arbor, MI (Michigan); Lincoln, NE (Nebraska); Stanford, CA (Stanford). Eight teams will play a double-elimination format at each site and the winners of each regional advance to the 23rd Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla. The WCWS begins on Thursday, May 27 at Hall of Fame Stadium.
