Cal Poly Drops Dual Meets to Cal State Bakersfield 2/6/2004

The Cal Poly men's and women's swimming and diving teams dropped dual meets to Cal State Bakersfield on Friday at the John S. Hillman Aquatics Center.

The Roadrunners won the men's meet 109-85 and the women's meet 130-99.

Cal Poly's Ben Palmer won a pair of men's events, taking the 200 individual medley in a season-best time of 1 minute, 56.46 seconds, and the 100 breaststroke in 58.37, another season-best time. Mustang teammate Nate Hall won the 500 freestyle in 5:02.27, a season-best time by .01 of a second.

Three Mustang swimmers were winners in the women's dual meet.

Mary Thomas won the 100 butterfly in 58.43 seconds, Stacy Peterson took the 100 backstroke in 58.95 seconds and Arwyn Becker touched the wall first in the 500 freestyle, timed in a season-best 5:16.64.
