1. Records Fall, UCI Crowned Regular-Season Champion With Win Over UC Riverside

The UC Irvine men’s basketball team clinched the Big West regular-season title outright after defeating UC Riverside 68-47, Saturday night in Riverside. UCI improves to 25-5 on the season, the most regular-season wins in program history.  Senior Jonathan Galloway became UCI’s all-time career rebounds leader after he grabbed 11 boards tonight, moving his career total to 927. 2. Win Streak Now At A Dozen As Aggies Claim Outright Crown

On the strength of 26 points and three blocks from senior biomedical engineering major Morgan Bertsch, UC Davis ran away with one on March 2, taking down UC Irvine 63-44 at Bren Events Center in Irvine, Calif., to claim sole possession of its third Big West Conference women’s basketball title and win its 12 consecutive contest. 3. Men’s Volleyball Sets Program Record In Win Over UC Irvine

The second-ranked University of Hawai’i men’s volleyball team displayed its offensive prowess in a straight-set win over No. 3 UC Irvine, Friday in its Big West Conference opener at the Bren Events Center. In the Big West opener for the Rainbow Warriors (11-0, 1-0 BWC), UH set a new program record for consecutive sets won with 33 in its 11th straight sweep to start the season. Full Story

4. UC Davis Beach Volleyball Sweeps Inaugural Matches

The No. 1 pair of freshman Jane Seslar and junior Lauren Matias won both of their matches in straight sets, while the No. 4 sophomore tandem of Paloma Bowman and Chelsea Maeglin also snared two wins, leading UC Davis beach volleyball to a doubleheader sweep of Sacramento State in the program’s inaugural match Saturday afternoon. The Aggies won the morning dual by a 4-1 margin, then captured the afternoon tilt, 3-2.  Full Story

5. Titans Walk-Off to Upset No. 20 Oregon to Begin Judi Garman Classic

Cal State Fullerton (10-6) came out with a walk-off 3-2 victory to upset No. 20 Oregon to begin their Judi Garman Classic slate. It’s the team’s fifth walk-off win this season and their first win over a ranked opponent this season. Full Story
