UC Davis Pair Earns First Career Baseball Weekly Awards

LOGAN DENHOLM, UC DAVIS – FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Junior Logan Denholm collected his first career Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award after leading UC Davis at the plate in a season-opening sweep of Northern Colorado.

• The catcher batted .556 (5-for-9) with five runs scored and seven RBI. He recorded a .636 on base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage as four of his five hits went for doubles.

• Denholm had at least one run scored, one hit and one RBI in all three games against the Bears.

• He tied the program record for doubles in a single game after going 3-for-5 with a career-best four RBI in a 12-0 shutout win on Sunday.

• Denholm finished 1-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI in the season opener, an 11-2 triumph.

• The El Dorado Hills native delivered a pinch-hit 2-RBI single in his only plate appearance in Saturday’s 9-2 victory.

• He also had two stolen bases.

CHRIS BROWN, UC DAVIS – PITCHER OF THE WEEK

• Senior Chris Brown notched his first Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award as the UC Davis southpaw threw seven shutout innings against Northern Colorado.

• In the series finale against the Bears, Brown helped the Aggies to the sweep. He scattered five hits while walking none and striking out a career-high six.

• Brown retired 10 of 15 Northern Colorado hitters at one point, and got a pair of double plays from the Aggie defense to snuff out any potential rally.
