Schneidmiller Repeats As Men's Volleyball Player of the Week


Sophomore • Outside Hitter • Saratoga, Calif. • Saratoga HS

• It’s two for two for Joel Schneidmiller as the attacker claimed his second consecutive Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week award – third overall – leading UC Irvine to three more road wins.

• Schneidmiller helped the Anteaters win nine out of 10 sets in wins at Ball State, Princeton and George Mason.  He totaled 44 kills, 17 digs and eight aces as the second-ranked Anteaters improved to 5-0 on the young season.

• Schneidmiller collected 18 kills on .400 hitting (18-6-30) in the sweep of No. 14 Ball State.  The 18 kills are the third best total nationally for a three set match.

• The 6-foot-6 outside hitter led UCI with 12 kills with just one error in 17 attempts (.647) and added a career-high five aces at Princeton.

• He finished the road trip with 14 kills, nine digs and three more aces against George Mason.  He averaged 4.40 kills, 1.70 digs and 0.80 aces while hitting .388 (44-13-80) for the week.

Junior • Middle Blocker • Watertown, Wisc. • Watertown HS

• Scott Stadick of UC Irvine claimed his sixth career Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week award as a stalwart at the net in three wins.

• The 7-foot middle blocker tallied 12 blocks (1.20 bps) in 10 sets as the “Eaters defeated No. 14 Ball State, Princeton and George Mason on the road.

• Stadick had two block assists versus Ball State, six total blocks against Princeton (2 solo, 4 assists) and four total blocks versus George Mason (1 solo, 3 assists).

• His three solo blocks moved into third all-time at UCI and became the school leader in the rally scoring era.

• Taylor Ittner is the Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman Player of the Week after leading CSUN to a 2-0 record, including a sweep of No. 2 UCLA.

• Ittner led the Matador attackers to a season-best .417 hitting clip as CSUN recorded its first home win over UCLA since 2014.

• He dished out 26 assists to go along with four digs and a block against the Bruins.

• Ittner had 27 assists, two digs and three block assists in three sets of action as CSUN won 3-1 over UC Merced.
