Diane Earns Second Men's Hoops Weekly Award

Earning Most Valuable Player honors of the Upper Division section of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic, CSUN freshman Lamine Diane captured his second Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor this season.

• Diane led the Matadors to narrow victories over SIUE (85-79) and Rider (81-80) with a combined 45 points and 20 rebounds on 50.0% (20-of-40) shooting.

• The 6-foot-7 forward compiled his sixth double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds against SIUE.  He made 9-of-19 floor shots including a three-pointer.  Diane also chipped in four assists, three steals and three blocks.

• In the tournament championship game, Diane totalled 24 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a steal in 36 minutes.  He knocked down 11-of-21 from the field.

• Earlier in the week, Diane posted a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds with two blocked shots in a 92-57 setback at New Mexico State.

• In three games, Diane averaged 23.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 steals.  He shot 53.6% (30-of-56) from the field.

• Against New Mexico State, he made his first three-pointer of the season.

• Diane leads the Big West in both scoring (24.3 ppg) and rebounding (10.2 rpg).
