Long Beach State Duo Heads Up Women's Volleyball Weekly Honorees

TYLER SPRIGGS, LONG BEACH STATE – PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior • OH • Los Angeles, Calif. • Arizona

• Tyler Spriggs captured her first career Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week honor as the leader of Long Beach State’s offense in two victories.

• The 6-foot-1 outside hitter had back-to-back 21-kill performances in consecutive four-set road wins over UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton.

• Spriggs hit .400 for the week with 42 kills and just four errors in 95 swings.

• She also totaled 18 digs and seven blocks (two solo).

• Spriggs averaged 5.25 kills and 2.25 digs per set.  She collected eight digs against the Highlanders, then secured her fifth double-double of the season with 10 scoops versus the Titans.

• She hit .442 (21-2-43) against the Titans with four blocks.

HAILEY HARWARD, LONG BEACH STATE – DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Hailey Harward earned her fourth career Defensive Player of the Week award – first of this season – as she spearheaded the Long Beach State defense with a pair of 20-dig efforts.

• Harward averaged 6.13 digs per set as the Beach sported back-to-back four-set road wins against UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton.

• The 5-foot-9 defensive specialist/libero tallied 23 digs against the Highlanders, then came back and notched a season-high 26 digs versus the Titans.

• Her 49 digs for the week upped her team-leading total to 358 for the season.

• Harward also served up four aces against CSF and had nine assists over the two contests.

MARISSA HOLT, UC RIVERSIDE – FRESHMAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
OH • Yucaipa, Calif. • Yucaipa HS

• Marissa Holt led UC Riverside to a 1-1 split and secured her first career Freshman Player of the Week award.

• The 5-foot-11 outside hitter hit an efficient .323 (42-11-96) while averaging 4.67 kills per set.

• Holt contributed 17 kills – second-most on the team – to go along with four digs and a block in a four-set loss to Long Beach State.  She hit .289 (17-4-45) against the Beach.

• In a five-set triumph over CSUN, Holt pounded a career-best 25 kills on .353 hitting.  She added three digs as the Highlanders improved to 4-10 in Big West play.

• Holt is the first UCR recipient of Freshman Player of the Week honors since Nicole Rodriguez on Nov. 20, 2017.
