Horvath, Chalmers Notch Softball Weekly Honors
Savannah Horvath tied the CSUN record for career home runs and Lindsey Chalmers logged two complete game wins in the circle for Cal Poly.

CSUN senior Savannah Horvath (Las Vegas, Nev./Centennial HS) earned her third career Big West Softball Field Player of the Week award for her performance in the Matador Classic, which included tying the school’s career home run record.
➜ Horvath belted her Big West-leading 11th home run of the season in a 6-1 victory over Georgia Tech on Friday. Her three-run blast in the fifth gave the Matadors a 5-1 lead.
➜ That home run was the 46th of her career, tying Scia Maumausolo (1993-96) for No. 1 in Matador history. Horvath is now No. 3 in Big West history, and just seven away from tying Darian Tautalafua of Long Beach State’s (53, 2013-16) record.
➜ Horvath hit .400 (6-for-15) for the week, tallying a hit in all four games as the Matadors posted a 3-1 record.
➜ The shortstop accounted for nearly half of CSUN’s 23 runs, scoring four times and driving in seven more. She had three RBIs in back-to-back games against Georgia Tech and Pacific. She finished 2-for-4 with a run scored in the 8-5 win over the Tigers.
➜ Horvath also walked and stole a base in the first of two meetings against Pacific, an 8-2 win. She had an on-base percentage of .438 and slugged .600 for the week.

LINDSEY CHALMERS, CAL POLY – PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Cal Poly senior Lindsey Chalmers (San Ramon, Calif./California HS) captured her second career Big West Softball Pitcher of the Week honor with two solid starts at the CSUN-hosted Matador Classic.
➜ Chalmers notched two complete game victories against Pacific (6-3) and Santa Clara (4-1).
➜ She tossed 2.1 innings of one-hit relief against Georgia Tech in her third appearance of the tournament.
➜ For the week, Chalmers posted a 2-0 record with a 1.71 ERA and just one walk against 10 strikeouts in 16.1 innings.
➜ Against Pacific, Chalmers did not walk a batter and fanned five.
➜ She allowed six hits and only one run in her outing against the Broncos.
