Cal Poly senior Victor Joseph earned his first career Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award on the heels of scoring a career-best 36 points in a double overtime win against CSUN.
➜ Victor Joseph had an incredible “Senior Night” to remember as the Cal Poly senior, in his final game inside Mott Athletics Center, scored a career-high 36 points to collect his first career Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor.
➜ The 6-foot guard scored 17 of the 36 points over two overtime periods to help the Mustangs eke out a 90-86 victory over CSUN. The 36 points is the highest scoring total by a Mustang since Jan. 4, 2010.
➜ Joseph not only scored in volume, but made the clutch shots as well. He hit a three-pointer with 10 seconds left in the first overtime, and sank another trey with a second remaining in the first overtime to extend the game.
➜ He shot 11-of-17 from the field, 5-of-10 from three-point range and 9-for-9 from the free throw line in 44 minutes of action.
➜ Joseph added three rebounds, one assist and three steals to his stat line.
➜ He ranks 29th in the NCAA in free throw percentage (.882), connecting 82 of his 93 attempts on the year.
