Dawson Notches Career-High In Points In Win

➜ Tavrion Dawson collected his third career Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor after averaging 26.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in two victories.
➜ Dawson helped the Matadors halt an 11-game skid as his 52.5 percent (21-of-40) shooting, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, keyed wins over San Diego Christian (93-63) and Morgan State (79-69). He also shot 70 percent (7-of-10) from the line.
➜ Dawson tallied career-highs in points (33) and field goal makes (14) in the win over San Diego Christian. The 33 points represented the most by a Matador since Josh Greene had 37 during the 2012-13 season. Dawson hit 14 of his 19 floor shots in the game.
➜ The forward followed up that performance with 20 points and nine rebounds against Morgan State. He recorded his third and fourth games with 20 points or more this week.
➜ He also recorded three assists in each of the two games.
➜ In the Big West stats, Dawson is No. 6 in scoring (16.1 ppg) and No. 10 in rebounding (5.9 rpg).
