The three women’s volleyball honorees have won multiple weekly awards during the 2017 season.
Ruddins Claims Another Honor
Recipient of her fourth Big West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week accolade this season, UC Santa Barbara sophomore Lindsey Ruddins (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Aliso Niguel HS) raised her NCAA-leading average in kills per set with 46 kills over two matches.
The 6-2 outside hitter posted her ninth and 10th consecutive 20+ kill matches as the Gauchos swept Cal State Fullerton and lost in three to UC Riverside.
Ruddins pounded 26 kills on .434 hitting against the Titans, slightly below the season-high .450 she achieved against CSF on Sept. 23. Ruddins totaled just three errors in 53 swings. She added 15 digs for her team-leading 10th double-double of the season.
Against the Highlanders, she again committed only three errors, finishing with 20 kills while swinging at a .304 clip. She chipped in with 14 digs to add her team best total in double-doubles (11).
Ruddins also had two assists, two aces and three blocks for the week.
