Cal Poly Sweeps Cross Country Awards
Peter Cotsirilos and Bryanna Fuller of Cal Poly led their squads at the Fresno Cross Country Invitational, earning Big West Athlete of the Week honors.
Fuller Captures Fourth Place at Fresno Invitational
Cotsirilos Wins 4-Mile Event
Cal Poly junior Peter Cotsirilos (WIlmette, Ill./New Trier Township HS) earned Big West Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week recognition after finishing in first place at the Fresno Invitational.
Cotsirilos completed the 4-mile course in 20:38.5, outdistancing teammate Sean McDermott, who finished a close second in 20:40.8.
The Mustangs dominated the field with a near perfect score of 16 points as they finished first through fourth in the standings.

Cal Poly sophomore Bryanna Fuller (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo HS) placed fourth at the Fresno State Invitational to earn Big West Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Fuller traversed the 5K Woodward Park course in a time of 18:13.5. San Jose State’s Jenny Sandoval won the event in 17:50.4.
The Mustangs tied the Spartans for the top team score of 39 points. Fuller, who averaged a mile pace of 5:52.8, finished ahead of teammate Angela DiPentino (18:15.3), who was fifth overall.
