Long Beach State Picked To Finish First:  After clinching the Big West Tournament title, Long Beach State was chosen to finish first in the 2017 Coaches Poll and received eight first-place votes. Four players return for the Beach who received All-Conference accolades last season including 2016 Big West Offensive Player of the Year, Ashley Gonzales, junior midfielder Dana Fujikuni, sophomore defender Kaitlin Fregulia and Freshman of the Year, Chloe Froment. Gonzales led the league in goals (11) and points (25) and has already written her name in the conference record book with 13 career game-winning goals.

Long Beach State Ranked Preseason Top-25:  The Long Beach State soccer team, coming off of the program’s sixth trip to the NCAA Tournament, is ranked No. 24 nationally in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll. The Beach finished 10-7-4 overall and 4-1-3 in league.

Cal State Fullerton Looks To Senior Class: Cal State Fullerton returns seniors Connie Caliz, Sarah Fajnor and Tala Haddad after a season that saw an 8-10-1 overall record and a 5-3 record in league. Fajnor paced the Titans with seven goals last season and helped CSF notch 15 goals in league, the most in the Big West.

CSUN Looks To Repeat: After making history a year ago with its first-ever Big West regular season title, the Matadors look to repeat as league champions despite being picked fifth in the Preseason Coaches Poll. With the 2016 Coach of the Year at the helm (Keith West), CSUN went 6-1-1 in Big West action while the eventual Goalkeeper of the Year, Jovani McCaskill set a new conference record with 14 shutouts.

Palacios Returns To Anteater Cast: Senior forward Kiana Palacios returns for UC Irvine after missing the end of the 2016 campaign to play for the Mexican National team. Palacios notched 23 points (9g, 5a) in 16 matches last season with the Anteaters, the Big West Tournament runner-up.

Ball And Santa Barbara Look To Make Noise
: UC Santa Barbara returns 2016 All-Big West first team selection in Amanda Ball as the Gauchos seek their first outright Big West regular season title since 2006.  Ball recorded the second-most goals in league last season with 10 scores while her 21 points and three game-winning goals were third-most in 2016.

CSUN Home To Tournament in 2017: CSUN will host the 2017 Big West Women’s Soccer Tournament from November 2-5 at Matador Soccer Field.  Consistent with previous years, the four teams with the best marks in league at the close of the regular season will earn berths to the conference tournament.
