Eight softball players received postseason recognition Thursday as the NFCA All-Region teams were announced.
The eight selections were split amongst two regions with most of the selections coming in the West. In that region, Cal Poly's Sierra Hyland, Cal State Fullerton's Kelsey Kessler and CSUN's Taylor Glover led the selections with first team status. Second team All-West accolades were handed to Cal Poly's Lindsey Chalmers, while Hawai'i's Brittany Hitchcock and the CSF duo of Delynn Rippy and Lexi Gonzalez all earned spots on the third team.
The final All-Region spot came in the Pacific region as UC Riverside's Rebecca Faulkner earned second team honors.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with first, second and third team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2017 NFCA Division I All-American squads.
In all, 667 student-athletes from 175 programs received 2017 NFCA Division I All-Region accolades.
