UC Irvine All-American Mary Brooks (Fresno, Calif./Clovis West HS) led the team with three goals in a win over No. 11 UC Santa Barbara to earn Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week honors.
It is the second time this season Brooks has won the award. She recorded her fifth straight multi-goal game and has at least one goal in six consecutive contests.
In the 10-5 road victory, Brooks scored twice in the second quarter to help UCI expand its lead to 5-1. She is the Anteater team leader in goals with 49, which ranks her No. 18 in the school’s single-season record book.
UCI improved to 18-6 on the year and remained undefeated in Big West play at 3-0. The Anteaters have won nine straight games, tying the school record set in 2012.
