Morales, Rivera Capture Softball Honors
Heather Morales led Hawai‘i offensively and Cerissa Rivera provided shut down pitching for Cal State Fullerton as the duo secured the softball weekly honors.
Morales Leads ‘Bows Offensively
Hawai‘i senior Heather Morales (Indio, Calif./Indio HS) had multiple hits in all three games of a series win against UC Davis, garnering Big West Softball Field Player of the Week honors.
The first baseman batted .545 (6-for-11) with a run scored and a team-leading five RBIs. She had two hits in all three games against the Aggies.
Morales went 2-for-3 with an opposite field double and an RBI in the series-opening 9-1 victory. In the second game, she finished 2-for-4 with a two-run blast that landed over the netting and onto the tennis courts. It was her sixth home run and the 16th of her career.
In the 6-2 victory in the series finale, Morales went 2-for-4 again, driving in a pair of runs with a single up the middle.
Morales leads UH with 26 RBIs and a .411 on-base percentage. She is hitting .354 with seven doubles and six home runs.

Rivera Earns Second Straight Pitching Honor
Cal State Fullerton senior Cerissa Rivera (Westminster, Calif./Monmouth) earned her second straight Big West Softball Pitcher of the Week honor as she struck out 18 hitters in 19.0 innings of work.
The right-hander won both of her starts against UC Riverside, allowing just three walks and one unearned run in total.
Rivera allowed just three hits in a complete game 3-1 victory in game two of the series. She walked one and struck out 10. In the rubber game, she pitched all 12 innings as the Titans eked out the 1-0 victory in a pitcher’s dual. Despite allowing 12 hits, Rivera kept the Highlanders off the board and struck out eight.
She is now 4-1 on the season.
