ESPN3 Baseball and Softball Release

A total of 11 Big West baseball games and eight softball contests will be showcased on ESPN3 this spring, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Every Big West institution will appear at least once on the schedule.

The package begins on the opening weekend of baseball conference play.  Cal Poly travels to UC Irvine for back-to-back games on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1.  The following week, UC Davis visits Goodwin Field for a date against preseason Big West favorite Cal State Fullerton on Friday, April 7.

Softball makes its first appearance on ESPN3 for the entire series between Cal Poly and Cal State Fullerton the weekend of April 8-9.  The preseason league favorite Titans and Mustangs play a doubleheader on Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday.

UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach State also line up for a three-game series on ESPN3 the weekend of April 22-23 from the LBSU Softball Complex.  The last two games of the softball package take place on Saturday, May 6 with a doubleheader between CSUN and Cal State Fullerton from Anderson Family Field.

UC Riverside hosts six consecutive baseball games in the package over three weekends.  The Highlanders welcome Hawai‘i (April 13-14), UC Santa Barbara (April 28-29) and UC Irvine (May 19-20) to the Riverside Sports Complex.

The baseball slate winds down with back-to-back games May 25-26 as longtime rivals Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton convene at Goodwin Field.
