2017 Big West Men's Basketball Tournament Central
Regular season champion UC Irvine took care of business against Orange  County foe No. 4 Long Beach State with a 62-57 win in the first  semifinal of the 2017 Big West Men's Basketball Tournament at Honda  Center in Anaheim, Calif.   Second-seeded UC Davis followed that up with  a come-from-behind, 66-64 overtime victory against No. 3 Cal State  Fullerton to secure the final spot in the finals of the Big West Men's  Basketball Tournament.
Top-Seeded UC Irvine Outlasts Rival LBSU To Advance To Title Game

Senior guard Jaron Martin scored 18 points and sophomore forward Jonathan Galloway  recorded nine rebounds and a career-high five blocked shots to lead  top-seeded UC Irvine over No. 4 seed Long Beach State, 62-57, in a Big  West Conference Tournament semifinal at the Honda Center Friday night.  Senior guard Luke Nelson  added 14 points while Galloway scored eight as UCI (21-13) advanced to  the Big West final for the sixth te in history and second in three  years. The Anteaters won the championship in 2015 to earn a berth in the  NCAA I Tournament for the first time in history.

Moneke's Tip-In Sends UC Davis To Tournament's Championship Game
 
Thanks to Chima Moneke's  buzzer-beating tip-in, UC Davis will compete for a Big West Tournament  championship, and the league's automatic berth in this year's NCAA  Tournament for the first time in program history. because that basket  lifted the Aggies to a 66-64 overtime victory.  Prior to Moneke's basket, Brynton Lemar  scored every point for the Aggies in OT. Lemar led all playes with 23  points and notched his ninth 20-point game of the season; on the final  play of the night, Moneke scored his 18th and 19th point of the night  and collected his 14th rebound to post his league-high 12th  double-double of the season, and third in the last five games.
