Toeaina Posts Career-High Point Performance

Hawai‘i junior Sarah Toeaina (Covington, Wash./Kentwood HS) recorded a career-high 25 points in the regular season finale to collect Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades.

The 5-11 guard reached her point total of 10-of-13 shooting in a 66-63 victory over Long Beach State that lifted the Rainbow Wahine into the No. 6 seed, and ahead of Cal Poly in the Big West Tournament bracket. 

Toeaina also went 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

She added five rebounds and three assists, and did not commit a turnover in 37 minutes of floor time.

Toeaina’s previous career-high was 24 points, accomplished against San Jose State on Nov. 25, 2016.
