UC Davis senior Brynton Lemar (San Diego, Calif./St. Augustine HS) tallied three career highs and averaged over 20 points in two wins to secure his second Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award this season.
The 6-4 guard erupted for a career-high 29 points as the Aggies toppled Cal State Fullerton, 74-65. He sank a career-best 13 free throws (in 16 attempts) and drained 4-of-8 from distance. Lemar also had a season-high seven rebounds and added three steals.
In a 77-63 triumph over UC Riverside, Lemar knocked down four more three-pointers en route to a 14-point effort. He chipped in two rebounds, an assist and a steal while making 5 of his 10 floor shots.
For the week, Lemar shot 50.0 (11-for-22) percent from the field and 53.3 (8-for-15) percent from three-point territory. His four threes in both games tied his career-best.
He averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game to help UC Davis win for the sixth time in the last seven games, and improve to 8-0 at home. The Aggies are the only remaining undefeated Big West squad at home.
