1. Long Beach State Men’s Golf Kicks Of Spring Season With Tournament Win

Redshirt sophomore Joe Fryer fired a 1-under-par 71 in Tuesday’s final round to capture individual medalist at the Folino Invitational and help lead Long Beach State to the team title at Industry Hills Golf Club.  Full Story


2. Two Big West Players Named to Player of the Year Watchlist
The top 50 “Watch List” for the 2017 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year was announced today and two Big West players were included in the list for the prestigious honor. The senior duo of CSUN’s Taylor Glover and Cal Poly’s Sierra Hyland garnered mention, kickstarting a process that will culminate in the Player of the Year announcement in late May. Full Story


3. LBSU's Kim, CSUN's Parks Joins 1,000 Point Club

Long Beach State senior point guard Anna Kim highlighted the Beach’s 68-63 win over UC Irvine on Saturday at the Bren Events Center as she became the 25th player in LBSU program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone. 

On a night where senior Aaron Parks reached 1,000 career points, CSUN Men's Basketball (10-12, 6-3 BWC) rode an offensive explosion in a 108-98 victory over Long Beach State (9-15, 4-4 BWC) on Wednesday evening at The Matadome.


4. Big West Releases Preseason Baseball And Softball Coaches Polls

The baseball team to beat in the Big West Conference in 2017 is Cal State Fullerton, according to the nine conference coaches that voted on the 2017 Big West baseball preseason poll.   The Titans earned eight first-place votes en route to a total of 75 points while Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara are knotted in second place with 65 points apiece.

Cal State Fullerton was the preseason pick among the softball league’s coaches for the Big West title, claiming the top spot in a tight race.  Long Beach State was only two points behind the Titans with 55 to go along with three first place votes.
CSUN came in third in the preseason poll with 49 points.


5. Cal Poly Men’s Basketball Takes Down League Leaders Two Weeks-In-A-Row

Two weeks ago the Cal Poly Mustangs knocked off undefeated UC Irvine and then followed that up with a win over UC Davis last week.
