Maulupe Explodes For Career-High In Victory
CSUN sophomore Serafina Maulupe (Vista Murrieta, Calif./Virginia Tech) erupted for a career-high 28 points in a win over UC Santa Barbara to garner Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades.
The 5-8 guard knocked down a career-best 10 field goals in 21 attempts to help the Matadors to a 75-61 decision, ending their four-game losing streak.
Maulupe connected for a trio of three-pointers and made 5-of-6 at the foul line. Her 50 threes on the season leads CSUN and ranks No. 2 in the Big West.
Maulupe’s performance came four days after a 25-point effort against Cal Poly, which established a then career-high.
She had 19 points in the first half on 7-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-5 from distance. Maulupe further stuffed the stat sheet with three rebounds and an assist in her 34 minutes of floor time.
