Lynn Leaupepe Averages 23.5 Points In Mustang Split
Cal Poly junior Lynn Leaupepe (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo HS) recorded her fourth and fifth 20-point games for the season in capturing her first career Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor.
The 5-9 guard averaged 23.5 points as the Mustangs finished 1-1 for the week, dropping a hard fought 87-79 decision to Hawai‘i before rebounding for a 70-63 road victory over CSUN.
Leaupepe’s twin sister, Dynn, won her first career award two weeks ago.
Lynn Leaupepe shot 52.9 (18-for-34) percent from the floor, including 60.0 percent (6-of-10) from long distance. She ranks No. 4 in the Big West in scoring at 15.9 points per game.
Against Hawai‘i, she tallied 21 points and nine rebounds, a steal and a block. Leaupepe recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 26 points and 11 rebounds against the Matadors. She also had three steals.
With seven or more caroms in 12 games, Leaupepe ranks fourth in the Big West in rebounding (7.8 rpg).
