CSUN sophomore Channon Fluker (Pasadena, Calif./Maranatha HS) garnered All-Tournament Team honors at the home Thanksgiving Classic en route to Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors.
The 6-4 center averaged a double-double of 20.5 points and 11.0 rebounds to help the Matadors gain a 1-1 split.
She led CSUN with 18 points and added eight rebounds and five blocks in a 76-67 win over Detroit in the tournament’s opening game. Fluker’s five rejections tied a career high in the victory. She made 9-of-15 shots from the field.
Fluker was dominant in a 63-59 loss to No. 19 Michigan State in the championship game. She recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 23 points and 14 rebounds against the Spartans in 35 minutes of action. Fluker knocked down 8-of-18 floor shots and was 7-of-8 at the foul line.
For the week, she shot 51.5 percent (17-of-13) from the field. She has 15 blocks on the season.
