Edelman Shoots 68 Percent In Three Games
UC Santa Barbara junior Drew Edelman (Sunnyvale, Calif./Menlo School) averaged 17.3 points and shot 67.6 percent from the field in three games as the Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The 6-4 junior led the Gauchos to a 2-1 record after making 23 of her 34 floor shots, matching or setting a new career-high in scoring in each of the three games.
Edelman also yanked down 16 rebounds to go along with three assists, one steal and one block for her weekly stat line.
In a 66-57 victory over Pepperdine, Edelman was an efficient 8 of 12 from the field to establish her first career-high of 16 points. She added six rebounds, two assists and a swat in the winning effort.
She posted 16 points, six rebounds and a steal in a narrow 58-53 road loss to Seattle, hitting 5 of 8 floor shots and 6 of 10 from the foul line.
Edelman completed the week with a torrid 10 of 14 effort from the field, finishing with a new career-best of 20 points in a 60-51 triumph against Northern Arizona. She added four boards and an assist to help the Gauchos to their second win of the week.
