Cal Poly's Bilo Earns At-Large Berth Into NCAA Championships

Cal Poly's Peyton Bilo will head to the Hoosier State next weekend, earning at-large selection into the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Indiana State University will host the championships Saturday, November 19, at LaVern Gibson Championship Course at Wabash Valley Family Sport Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. The women’s race will begin at 11 a.m. Eastern Time. A live webcast of the championships will be broadcast from 11 a.m. Eastern Time until the conclusion of the awards ceremony, Saturday, November 19, on NCAA.com. The livestream will be broadcast by FloTrack. The sophomore's at-large selection comes on the heels of an outstanding performance at the West Regional meet. Bilo finished the 6K in a personal-best 19:45.9, ninth in the field and the lone league runner to finish in the top 10. Her postseason began with an individual title at the Big West championships, completing the scenic 6K course in 21:04.1.
During the regular season Bilo finished no lower than third in any race, earning Big West Athlete of the Week accolades on four occasions includuing for her performance at the Pre-Nationals meet (3rd - 20:11.5). She also capped the season with the Big West Athlete of the Year honors.
