ICYMI: Here are the top five things that happened in the Big West last week….In Case You Missed It!

1. Big West SAAC Making Waves In The Community

UC Irvine’s Mckenzie Piper represented the Big West Conference in Indianapolis at the National SAAC meetings, while Big West Commissioner Dennis Farrell visited University of Hawai’i to talk about how the ‘Bows #LeadBig.


2. Volleyball: Long Beach Downs Hawai’i In Battle Of The Undefeated

In front of 3,212 fans, the largest volleyball attendance at The Pyramid since 2001, Long Beach State defeated defending Big West Champion Hawai’i, 3-2, to take over the top spot in the Big West standings with a perfect 6-0 mark.  The win also snapped the Rainbow Wahine 26 consecutive conference wins and 15th-straight Big West road victories.  Full Story, Highlights


3. Cal State Fullerton Victor In 2015 Big West Championship Rematch

In a rematch of the 2015 Big West Conference women’s soccer championship, where the Titans downed the 49ers, 1-0, to claim back-to-back titles, the same result happened last week. Senior Jennifer Stuart recorded her second clean sheet of the season as Cal State Fullerton edged Long Beach State, 1-0, in a Big West Conference tilt Sunday night at Titan Stadium.  Full Story

4. #BigWestCares: The Big West Hosts Fall Think Pink Games

Big West student-athletes aren’t only passionate when it comes to performing on the field or in the classroom, but also when it comes to the community.  The Big West Conference takes action throughout the year to support Breast Cancer Awareness and will host a slew of Think Pink games this fall. 5.  Former Cal State Fullerton player Justin Turner Shines For Dodgers

Justin Turner, who played for Cal State Fullerton, belted a two-run homer in the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 victory over the Washington Nationals in game one of the MLB National League Division Series.  Full Story
