Nick DePuy and Vincent Morales garnered this week's installment of the men's soccer weekly awards.
DePuy Strikes in Pair of Gaucho Wins
Prolific goal scorer Nick DePuy (Irvine, Calif./Regis Jesuit HS) of UC Santa Barbara was up to his old tricks as the Big West Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week notched a pair of goals in two wins.
The All-American forward scored the game-tying goal in an eventual 5-2 victory against San Diego on Friday. In a 1-0 triumph against Saint Mary’s on Sunday, he had the game-winning strike in a contest that featured only 10 shots combined for both teams.
DePuy just missed the net on another two header attempts against the Gaels. UCSB is 18-0-4 in games all-time in which DePuy finds the back of the net. The Gauchos are also off to their first 4-0-0 start since 2011. His six career weekly awards is tied for second all-time in league history.
