Mathewson Cruises, Dirtbags Top Florida Atlantic In NCAA Opener

Sophomore Chris Mathewson picked a great time to deliver his best start of the season. The righthander took a no-hitter into the seventh inning on Friday afternoon, as Long Beach State (37-20) defeated Florida Atlantic (38-18) by a 5-1 score to advance to the winner's bracket of the Coral Gables Regional. The Dirtbags await the winner of the Miami (FL)/Stetson game, knowing their next game will be Saturday at 7 p.m. ET back at Alex Rodriguez Park.



Bush Comes Up Big Again, Hits Walk-Off Homer In UCSB Regional Opener Against Washington

UC Santa Barbara's resident go-to man for clutch home runs, Austin Bush, saved the most important big fly of his career for Friday night, blasting a solo shot over the right field fence in the bottom of the 14th inning to give his team a 3-2 walk-off win over three-seed Washington in the first game of the Nashville Regional, hosted by Vanderbilt.


No. 21 Cal State Fullerton and LA Tech Game Suspended Due to Inclement Weather

Game two of the Starkville Regional between Louisiana Tech and No. 21 Cal State Fullerton was suspended due to rain and lightning in the area and will resume Saturday, June 4 at 10 a.m. (CT). No ticket will be required for admission for the conclusion of the contest.

At the time of the suspension, the Titans (35-21) and the Bulldogs (40-18) were scoreless in the bottom of the seventh inning. Cal State Fullerton's Chris Hudgins was up to bat with one out in the frame.
