Cal State Fullerton senior Dalton Blaser (Roseville, Calif./Sierra College) hit .800 with three consecutive multi-hits games against UC Riverside, earning Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week accolades.
The right fielder opened the series going 4-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a 2-1 victory. He went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI in Saturday’s 6-2 triumph.
In Sunday’s series finale, a 9-2 victory, Blaser notched two more hits, including a pair of home runs. He finished the day 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI.
Blaser was 1-for-4 with an RBI in a midweek loss to San Diego State as well.
Overall he registered a .643 average (9-for-14) with a 1.214 slugging percentage.
Cal State Fullerton sophomore Connor Seabold (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor HS) notched Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors after tallying a career-high 12 strikeouts in seven shutout innings against UC Riverside.
The right-hander recorded the win as the Titans edged the Highlanders, 2-1. Seabold scattered four hits and walked just one over the seven innings, allowing just two batters to reach second base.
Seabold retired 10 of the last 11 batters he faced including nine straight as he earned his sixth win of the season.
