Pang, Razakasoa Extend Personal Win Streaks
Singles success for junior tennis sensations Corey Pang and Maeva Razakasoa led to weekly honors as they extended their personal win streak to 12 and 10 straight, respectively.
Pang Helps Mustangs Improve To 4-0 In Big West Play
Red hot Corey Pang (Redwood City, Calif./Carlmont HS) captured Big West Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors for the second week in a row as he extended his consecutive singles win streak to 12.
Pang impacted two Mustang wins over UNLV (5-2) and No. 69 UC Davis (4-3), the latter triumph pushing Cal Poly’s conference record to 4-0.
He knocked off Ruben Alberts of UNLV by a 6-4, 6-3 score and partnered with Ben Donovan to win their No. 1 match in doubles, 6-3, over the Rebel pairing of Jakob Amilon and Alberts.
Pang’s 7-6 (1), 6-4 victory over Brett Bacharach of UC Davis from the No. 3 slot tied the match at 2-2 before Cal Poly went on to victory. He has not lost a solo dual match since Feb. 21, and is now 17-4 overall this year.

Razakasoa Key In Long Beach State's Third Straight Title
Long Beach State junior Maeva Razakasoa (Cranves-Sales, France) collected her third Big West Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honor this season after compiling a 4-0 record in singles and doubles.
She helped the Beach to a third straight Big West regular season title as her 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-2 triumph over Cal State Fullerton’s Alexis Valenzuela contributed to the 7-0 team win. Razakasoa also played a role in LBSU’s 5-2 win over No. 44 Oregon, defeating her foe Nia Rose by a 6-0, 7-5 count.
Trailing 5-4 in both No. 2 doubles matches, Razakasoa and teammate Julie Gerard rebounded in must-win scenarios to take 7-5 victories and the doubles point. She is now 17-3 in singles and 14-2 in doubles this year.
