Teare Named April Women's Golfer of the Month

For the third time in her career, Long Beach State senior Kassidy Teare (Vista, Calif./Rancho Buena Vista HS) secured Big West Women’s Golfer of the Month honors.  Teare had the best performance in April with a fifth-place finish at the Silverado Showdown.

It was Teare’s fourth top-five finish this year, and eighth overall.  She shot even par 216 throughout the three-day, 54-hole tournament at the par-72, 6,206-yard Silverado Resort & Spa North Course.

Teare, ranked No. 50 in the latest Golfstat rankings and the highest ranked player in the Big West, carded rounds of 71, 73 and 72 as she finished ahead of six players ranked in the Golfstat top-50, including No. 9 Emma Henrikson of San Diego State, No. 13 Hannah Suh of California and No. 26 Mariah Steakhouse of Stanford.

She recorded four birdies in the final round, helping the Beach to a 15th-place finish.
