Harvey Provides Clutch Goals In Win Over No. 19 Hartwick
UC Davis junior Hannah Harvey (Clovis, Calif./Clovis HS) scored six total goals in Friday’s Aggie Invitational doubleheader sweep, including the game-winner against No. 19 Hartwick, as she earned her second straight Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week honor.
The utility player notched four of her six scores against the Hawks, none more dramatic than the game-winner with 45 seconds left that gave the Aggies a 12-11 victory. Harvey stole a pass coming out of a Hartwick timeout, then finished the counterattack opportunity to break the 11-11 tie with 45 seconds left.
Leading up to that point, Harvey’s three other second-half goals set up the heroics: the 8-8 equalizer to close out the third, a counter goal midway through the fourth to give UC Davis the leads, and another fast break strike to extend that lead to 11-8.
Harvey collected two more goals in Friday afternoon’s 14-9 victory over Azusa Pacific.
