Yun, Eales Earn Weekly Tennis Honors

Sean Yun and Laura Eales went undefeated in singles play to collect this week's tennis honors.

Yun Extends Win Streak To Six

UC Riverside senior Sean Yun (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany HS) extended his winning streak at No. 2 singles to six straight matches, picking up Big West Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.
Yun, who started the season 0-7 in singles, has since won eight of the last nine and helped the Highlanders to two victories last week.
He held off Westmont’s Trevor Kimsy, 6-4, 6-4 as UCR defeated the NAIA’s ninth-ranked squad by a 5-2 count.  He also earned one of the team’s two points in a 5-2 loss to Liberty, knocking off Alex Poynter, 6-4, 6-2.

Yun then recorded his third straight set victory with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Connecticut’s Christopher Toner.  The 5-2 win against the Huskies brought UCR to the .500 mark at 9-9, which matched the school’s Division I record for wins since joining the Big West in 2006.
