Fluker's Career High Gets CSUN Into Conference Win Column
After averaging a double-double and posting a career-high in points, CSUN freshman Channon Fluker (Pasadena, Calif./Maranatha HS) earned her first Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award.
Fluker averaged 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds to help CSUN to a 1-1 week, including a 63-60 victory over Hawai‘i that snapped an eight-game losing streak.
She recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 66-62 overtime loss to Cal Poly on Thursday. Against UH, Fluker posted her first career 30-point game, finishing with 31 on 11-of-17 shooting from the field and 9-of-11 from the free throw line. The 6-4 center added 11 rebounds for her third double-double.
Fluker shot 56.0 (14-of-25) percent from the floor and 76.5 (13-of-17) percent from the charity triple as CSUN won its third straight game at home against Hawai‘i.
She is averaging 8.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for the season, with those averages increasing to 13.0 points and 9.6 rebounds in five Big West games.
