Barber, Kruidhof, Ohiri Garner Women's Volleyball Honors
The Long Beach State duo of Nele Barber and Megan Kruidhof joined Kelechi Ohiri of UC Davis on the honor roll as the trio earned the final women’s volleyball weekly awards for the 2015 season.
Barber Captures Fourth Honors
Long Beach State junior Nele Barber (Berlin, Germany/Marquette) garnered her fourth Big West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week honor after recording a pair of double-doubles in non-conference victories over Pacific and Denver.
The 6-0 outside hitter led the Beach to two sweeps with back-to-back 11-kill performances. She hit .250 (22-9-52) for the week while averaging 3.67 kills and 4.83 digs per set.
In addition, Barber secured her 22nd and 23rd double-doubles of the season with 13 and 16 digs against the Tigers and Pioneers, respectively.
Barber hit .273 with just five errors against Denver, adding a service ace and a pair of solo blocks for good measure.

Kruidhof Wraps Up Freshman Honor
Recording her first career double-double, Long Beach State outside hitter Megan Kruidhof (Long Beach, Calif./Lakewood HS) collected Big West Women’s Volleyball Freshman Player of the Week accolades to complete her first season in the black and gold.
Kruidhof slammed 10 kills and scooped up 11 Denver attempts for the double-double in a three-set victory. She hit .389 with just three errors on 18 swings in the match.
In another three-set victory over Pacific, Kruidhof compiled nine kills and six digs.
For the week, she averaged 3.17 kills and 2.83 digs per set.

Ohiri’s Block Party Leads To Defensive Award
UC Davis freshman Kelechi Ohiri (Elk Grove, Calif./Monterey Trail HS) secured Big West Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week accolades with a career-high tying block total in a win over Cal Poly.
The 6-1 middle blocker had 12 stuffs, including two solo, in the four-set victory over the Mustangs in the season finale.
Ohiri’s 12 total blocks ranks tied for second in school history while the 10 block assists is tied for third. She also rang up seven kills in 13 attempts, attacking at a .385 clip to help the Aggie cause.
