Walbrecht, Van Winden, Magill Earn Women's Volleyball Honors
The women’s volleyball honors were distributed evenly this week with UC Davis, Cal Poly and Hawai‘i each earning a piece of the pie.
Walbrecht Helps UC Davis To 2-0 Conference Week
Junior Kendall Walbrecht (La Cañada, Calif./La Cañada HS) led UC Davis in kills in a pair of conference wins to secure Big West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week honors.
The 6-3 outside hitter averaged a team-leading 5.00 kills per set as the Aggies swept both UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Fullerton. She swung at a .375 clip with just six errors in 64 attempts.
Having recently moved from the right to the left side, Walbrecht has hit .246 and averaged 3.67 kills per set through six conference matches. She upped those numbers to .406 efficiency (17-4-32) and 5.67 kills per set against the Gauchos.
Walbrecht also hit .344 with 13 kills and two errors in 32 swings agains the Titans. She added a service ace in the CSF match, and her involvement in the serving game (just four service errors in 59 serves during Big West play) led to six digs this weekend.

Van Winden Collects Fifth Freshman Honor
Cal Poly outside hitter Adlee Van Winden (Napa, Calif./Vintage HS) notched her fifth Big West Women’s Volleyball Freshman of the Week honor after playing a key role in a pair of conference victories.
Van Winden hit .315 (29-6-73) with 4.14 kills, 3.86 digs and 0.43 service aces per set as the Mustangs defeated UC Irvine (3-0) and UC Santa Barbara (3-1).
She recorded a match-high 20 kills against the Gauchos, and added 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the year. It was also the fourth time this year that Van Winden had totaled 20 or more kills in a match. She closed out her stat line with a pair of service aces.
Van Winden nearly posted another double-double versus the Anteaters with nine kills and a match-high 17 digs. She has posted double-digit kills in all but two matches and her 3.97 season kills per set average is on pace to put her in the Cal Poly single-season top 10.

Magill Spearheads Hawai‘i Block Attack
Hawai‘i middle blocker Olivia Magill (Shoreline, Wash./Arizona) averaged more than two blocks per set in earning Big West Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
She posted a 2.38 blocks per set clip to help UH improve to 16-1 overall and 6-0 in the Big West. In a sweep of CSUN, she tallied eight total blocks (one solo) to go along with three kills and three digs.
In a five-set victory over defending Big West champion Long Beach State, Magill showed why the Rainbow Wahine ranks No. 1 in the NCAA in blocks. She tied her season high with 11 blocks, including a career-high three solo that helped limit the 49ers to .097 hitting for the contest.
Magill also contributed solidly on the offensive end against LBSU with eight kills and no errors in 21 attacks for .381 hitting.
