Campos Sports Solid Effort In Pacific Northwest
Hawai‘i freshman Camille Campos (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale HS), running in just her second collegiate meet, captured Big West Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors with her solid effort at the Sundodger Invitational.
Competing at Seattle’s Lincoln Park, Campos completed her first 6K race in a time of 22:14.83 for 35th place. Facing some of the stiffest competition in the northwest, Campos recorded a mark that bested last year’s UH leader by 21 seconds.
Campos also had an opportunity to test her abilities against the conditions, as the NCAA West Regional later this year will be run in Seattle on a different course.
