Krieghoff, Wilson Selected As Candidates For Senior CLASS Award
Senior standouts Elise Krieghoff of Cal Poly and Cal State Fullerton’s Rebecca Wilson were selected as candidates for the 2015 Senior CLASS award in Division I collegiate soccer as announced Thursday.
Selected from a nationwide pool for the distinction, Krieghoff and Wilson are among 30 women nominees who excel in the areas of community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the award honors the student-athlete who most embodies the four characteristics.
Krieghoff, a three-time All-Big West First Team performer, has been the league’s leading goal-scorer for three years in a row and owns the conference’s all-time record for most player-of-the-week accolades with eight. The senior’s 46 career goals were tied for the nation’s third-highest total among all active Division I student athletes entering the 2015 campaign and the forward is just 11 scores away from setting a new career-goal mark for the Big West.

The reigning Big West Offensive Player of the Year, Wilson has already amassed five goals and two assists in four games to help her team to an unbeaten 4-0 start in 2015. Wilson is tied for fifth all-time in the Fullerton record book with 51 career points and her 20 goals tie for sixth all-time in CSF history. With 10 goals and three assists in her red shirt junior season, Wilson helped the Titans reclaim the Big West regular season title and helped CSF clinch back-to-back Big West Tournament crowns.
