Cal State Fullerton junior Missy Taukeiaho (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Etiwanda HS) received third-team All-American praise from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as announced earlier today.

The third baseman has received back-to-back All-American honors and gives the Big West an All-American honoree for the fourth year in a row and the 15th time in the last 17 seasons.

The two-time first team All-Conference honoree hit for power and average this past season, ranking second in home runs (12) and fourth in batting (.390).  The junior also recorded 10 doubles and 41 RBI.

Taukeiaho also led the Titans in slugging percentage (.728) and on-base percentage (.488), an impressive feat despite missing 10 games on the year. The 2014 Big West Field Player of the Year sits at 31 home runs in two seasons at Fullerton, fourth all-time in program history.

A transfer from the University of Washington, Taukeiaho has produced 21 multi-hit games in back-to-back seasons and recorded 10 multi-RBI games in ’15 to power a Titan offense that hit a Big West-best .312.

"Missy continues to change the culture of Titan softball since the first day she put on the uniform," said CSF coach Kelly Ford to the Cal State Fullerton athletics department on Taukeiaho’s two-time first team All-West Region nods.

"Being a two-time recipient of such an honor is no easy task and the fact that she missed a handful of games shows that she battled a great deal of adversity to still find success. Missy did an exceptional job in being selectively aggressive at the plate while always ready to capitalize when an opportunity presented itself. One of the most explosive bats in the nation, I'm proud to see her grow as a leader and mentor."
