Big West Teams to Participate in Trio of Prestigous Tournaments

Hawai'i, Long Beach State, and CSUN are set to participate in a trio of prestigious tournaments in the non-conference portion of their schedules, with brackets being released this week.

For the sixth year, Hawai'i will host the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic. Set to take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, Dec. 22, 23, and 25, the field consists of Colorado, DePaul, George Washington, Loyola Marymount, Ohio, Nebraksa, and Wichita State. The Rainbow Warriors will face Nebraska in their opening-round game on Monday, Dec. 22 at 11 p.m. PT/8 p.m. HT on ESPNU.

Long Beach State will participate in the Wooden Legacy for the second time in the event's history. Played on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, Nov. 27, 28, & 30 at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Gym and Honda Center, the eight-team event also features Princeton, San Diego, San Jose State, UTEP, Washington, Western Michigan and Xavier. The 49ers take on Western Michigan Thursday at 5:30 p.m. PT on ESPNU.

Competing in the Opening and Regional rounds of the EA Sports Maui Invitational, CSUN will play a pair of road games at San Diego State on Friday, Nov. 14 and at Arizona on Sunday, Nov. 16 before participating in a two-day event at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock, Ark. The Matadors will play Samford on Saturday, Nov. 22 and either UALR or Missouri-Kansas City on Sunday, Nov. 23. Read the CSUN Athletics release .
