National and regional television partners ESPN and Prime Ticket will televise a total of 58 Big West men’s and women’s basketball contests across various platforms for the 2013-14 season.

The Big West’s national broadcast arrangement with ESPN’s linear platforms – ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU – features 14 games, including the Conference’s men’s basketball tournament semifinals and championship game at Honda Center.  The package also is highlighted by five men’s basketball conference regular season games on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

Through the Conference’s mobile production facility that the Big West and ESPN co-launched in November, an additional 24 men’s and women’s basketball regular season and tournament games will be live streamed on ESPN3.  The ESPN3 hoops rollout includes nine Thursday and nine Saturday dates during the conference season, and sunsets with the first three rounds (six games total) of the women’s basketball tournament.

Three non-conference, non-Big West produced ESPN3 games also fill the overall schedule.

The Big West’s partnership with Prime Ticket – the official regional telecast home of the Conference – is slated to televise 14 games, including four Big West Tournament men’s quarterfinal contests and the women’s championship game.  The regional package begins on Thursday, Dec. 19 with Long Beach State hosting non-conference rival USC.  The first of eight conference showdowns on Prime Ticket airs on Thursday, Jan. 9 as local rivals UC Irvine and Long Beach State square off.

“We are thrilled to feature the most ambitious television schedule the Big West has ever had,” said Big West Commissioner Dennis Farrell.  “It is a testament to the relationships that we have built with our television partners at ESPN and FOX, and we’re excited to be able to bring Big West basketball to our fans all the way through March Madness.”
