Big West Men's Basketball Tournament rematch time as two-time defending champs UC Santa Barbara host defending regular-season champs Long Beach State on ESPNU in the biggest game of the week. It's also showdown time on the women's basketball front as defending regular-season champs Cal Poly pay a visit to the top team in the league thus far, Cal State Northridge. Oh, and women's water polo squads hit the pool for the first time, while men's & women's tennis teams take to the courts for the first time this spring. Enough for you?
Men's Basketball
Long Beach State (12-6, 5-0 Big West) travels up the Central Coast for a pair of crucial battles against Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara this week. The rematch of last season's Big West Tournament championship game between the Gauchos and 49ers will be televised nationally by ESPNU on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. (PST) from UCSB's Thunderdome.
For the seventh year, all home and conference games, with the exception of ESPN and FOX Sports contests, will be broadcast by the institutions on BigWest.TV, the conference's video streaming initiative in partnership with CBS College Sports.

Women's Basketball
Both Cal Poly and Cal State Northridge entered the week undefeated in conference play, but both teams stumbled last week and recorded their first losses of the year. UC Davis held off Cal State Northridge, 55-53, Thursday evening, snapping CSUN's three-game win streak. The Matadors returned to their winning ways two days later to notch a 72-68 victory over Pacific and improve to 4-1 in Big West play to lead the league. Cal Poly suffered its first Big West loss to the hands of UC Irvine, 62-60, and currently sits second in the standings with a 3-1 mark.
The top two teams in the league, Cal Poly and Cal State Northridge, face off Thursday, Jan. 19 at The Matadome. The duo split the series last year, with each team winning on their home court.
