The Labor Day weekend is packed as fall sports are in full swing this week, with plenty of home action in store! Highlights include visits by NCAA champion Akron men's soccer and future Big West member Hawaii in women's soccer, while ranked opponents line the women's volleyball schedule.
Men's Soccer
National Champions Akron highlight the Big West schedule for the second week of the 2011 season. Cal State Northridge will host the Labor Day Classic featuring the Zips, Cal State Fullerton and UNLV.
For the seventh year, select games will be broadcast by the institutions on BigWest.TV, the conference's video streaming initiative in partnership with CBS College Sports
Men's Soccer Weekly Release #2
Women's Soccer
Defending Big West regular-season champs UC Irvine (4-0) will have their home opener this Friday in the first game of a double-header with the Anteater men. UCI will host future Big West member Hawaii, who will officially join the conference in July 2012.
Long Beach State (2-2) will also host Hawai'i this Sunday, after welcoming Princeton on Thursday. Meanwhile, UC Riverside (2-1-1), riding their first win streak since 2009, face off against Michigan and Southern Utah this weekend.

Women's Soccer Weekly Release #3
Women's Volleyball
The week starts off early with UC RIverside hosting their home opener against Maryland-Baltimore County Monday afternoon. The Highlanders will broadcast their game on BigWest.TV FREE OF CHARGE as a special for fans.
Undefeated Pacific (3-0) have their season opener set for Thursday against visiting No. 18 Duke, before hosting the 33rd Annual Community Bankers Classic this weekend. The Tigers will welcome Mississippi State, Army and Duquesne to Stockton Friday and Saturday. All Pacific matches will air on BigWest.TV free of charge as well.
The team with the toughest weekend is Big West favorite No. 23 Long Beach State (2-1), who will take a trip to Hawaii. The 49ers will face No. 12 UCLA, No. 10 Hawaii and No. 22 Ohio State.
