Women's Basketball
After the opening weekend of Big West play, this year's championship is definitely up for grabs after UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton both toppled preseason favorites in their opening contests. The Anteaters, winning nine of their last 10 contests, downed last season's Big West tournament champion UC Riverside, 53-46, to improve to 9-4 on the season. Lauren Chow's last minute heroics led Cal State Fullerton to a 58-56 win over preseason season favorite and 2009-10 Big West regular season champion UC Davis. Unfortunately the Titans couldnt pull out another last-second win and fell to Pacific 69-65 to drop to 1-1 in league play. The winless Cal State Northridge Matadors also notched their first victory of the season at the start of conference action, downing the Tigers 74-68 in overtime.
For the sixth year in a row, all home and conference games will be broadcast by the institutions on BigWest.TV, the conference's video streaming initiative in partnership with CBS College Sports.
