The close of the year brings final non-conference games and the beginning of Big West play for both men's and women's hoops.  Two big games are slated for Tuesday, with a rematch of the 2010 Big West Men's Basketball Tournament final between UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach State on ESPNU and ESPN3.com and the Pacific women hosting the top team in the country, the University of Connecticut Huskies.

Men's Basketball

Men's basketball conference play commences this week with a showdown between preseason media favorites UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach State.  The two teams face off on ESPNU on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. in a rematch of the 2010 Big West Tournament championship game.

For the sixth year in a row, all home and conference games will be broadcast by the institutions on BigWest.TV, the conference's video streaming initiative in partnership with CBS College Sports.

Women's Basketball

While the 2010 year is coming to a close, the quest for the 2010-11 Big West Conference title is just beginning. Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara have the honor of kicking off league play as the 49ers welcome the Gauchos to The Walter Pyramid on Dec. 30. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. The following day the rest of the teams join in the fun as UC Davis hosts Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge visits Pacific and UC Irvine travels to UC Riverside. Cal Poly must wait until the new calendar year before playing its first conference matchup. The Mustangs square off with Long Beach State Sunday, Jan. 2 at 2:00 p.m.
