It's official: summer's over. Men's soccer joins the fall sports fray beginning on Wednesday, becoming the third Big West sport to debut in 2010. Meanwhile, women's volleyball moves onto their second week of pre-season tournament play as more women's soccer teams return home for matches.
Men's Soccer
Fourteen matches are on the schedule for the first week of the 2010 Big West season. Play begins on Wednesday, September 1 with four matches, including home contests for Cal State Northridge (vs. San Diego) and 2009 Big West Tournament champs UC Irvine (vs. Gonzaga). Also bowing Wednesday will be Big West pre-season favorite and defending regular-season champs UC Santa Barbara (at Cal State Bakersfield) as well as UC Riverside (at San Jose State). Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton and UC Davis will open their seasons on Friday, all on the road.
UC Irvine and UC Davis will be the only teams hosting home matches this weekend. The Anteaters will face Loyola-Chicago Saturday while the Aggies welcome San Jose State on Sunday.

Women's Soccer
The third week of play sees a total of eighteeen matches on the schedule, including six home dates at Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge and Long Beach State. Difficult road contests are also on the slate, with matches against the likes of Arizona, Gonzaga, Minnesota, Oregon, Oregon State, Texas and UCLA.
Cal State Fullerton will make a live videostream of their Sunday match against UNC-Greensboro available FREE OF CHARGE. This marks the third year that the Titans will broadcast select home women's soccer games on BigWest.TV.
NOTE: Friday's match between Cal State Fullerton and Purdue will not be broadcast on BigWest.TV due to conflicts with Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball.

The first weekend of play will be extended, with UC Santa Barbara opening their home schedule on Monday against Cincinnati. Twenty-two more matches are on the schedule, including contests against top-ranked teams such as Nebraska, Stanford, Texas and UCLA.
Home contests this week are highlighted by tournaments hosted by Cal State Fullerton and Pacific. All Titan and Tiger matches will be broadcast on BigWest.TV, and all will be FREE OF CHARGE this week.
NOTE: The UC Santa Barbara match against Cincinnati will not be shown on BigWest.TV due to the contest being played in Rob Gymnasium.
