In the final day of competition at the 2010 NCAA Track & Field Championships, Cal State Northridge's Reindell Cole picked up his second career All-America accolade in the long jump. Saturday's events marked the end of the 2010 collegiate outdoor track & field season.
In historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon, Cole jumped 7.90 meters (25-11.00) on his second effort to claim the national honor. His mark was the third-best showing in the field.
A few Big West athletes were also in competiton during the final day, including a pair of teammates in the javelin. Long Beach State's Randi Hicks and Alex Shaw finished 12th and 17th in the event, respectively. Hicks put forth a top effort of 48.05 meters (157-08), while Shaw's best showing was 46.30 meters (151-11).
Brenda Martinez also competed in a final Saturday as the UC Riverside All-American ran in the 1500. She was unable to collect another national honor as she finished 12th with a time of 4:25.60.
