Cal State Fullerton defeated Minnesota, 9-5, tonight at Goodwin Field to secure a spot in the 16-team NCAA Super Regional. The Titans will travel to Los Angeles, Calif., to face the sixth-seeded UCLA Bruins. This marks the eighth straight season the Titans have advanced to the Super Regionals, but the first time they competed on the road.
The best-of-three super regional will be played Friday, June 11, Saturday, June 12, and Sunday, June 13 (if necessary). Game times are scheduled for 7:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (pacific) and will air on ESPN2. The winner will advance to the 64th College World Series which begins play Saturday, June 19, at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb.
Cal State Fullerton, who went 2-0 versus the Bruins this season, has advanced to the College World Series six of the last nine seasons and won the national title in 2004.
